Musing on a Spring Day

It is the little things. The sight of 6 beautiful horses running freely across a field, bright red tulips opening to the sun as I watched, dots of dandelion yellow arising where yesterday there were none, and a bagel topped with fig jam resting on a slather of cream cheese… yes, it is the little things that bring enjoyment to life. You can have the glitz of Las Vegas, the adrenaline of Washington, the stress of social climbing. For me, I rejoice over the deepening color on the dogwood, the motorcyclists cruising by, and even dots of yellow sprinkled on the lawn.

  1. I was happy today to dump 4 barrels of lawn rakings over at the transfer station. A pleasure not as poetic perhaps, but deeply satisfying nevertheless.
